Front after wash down with white spirit.104 viewsOnce the sanding is completed, the guitar is wiped down with a rag soaked in white spirit to remove the last of the wood dust and to enhance the grain slightly. Photo taken after white spirit had dried.tone256Feb 21, 2007

Front after 16 coats94 views16 coats were applied instead of the intended 14. This was not because I thought it needed more, but because the 14th coat was not applied well enough to be the last coat and so a further 2 coats were applied very carefully to achieve a better finish.tone256Feb 21, 2007

Front following dismantling ready to strip old finish81 viewsNeck, hardware & electrics removed except earth wire from the control cavity to bridge. This was left in place as wouldn't get in the way and is difficult to thread back through.
Temporary handle fitted by screwing through the handle into the neck socket (ensuring screws long enough to obtain grip, but not long enough to come through body). This makes applying stripper and final finish easier as it provides something to hold and to hang on when drying.tone256Feb 09, 2007
